Ateneo For Three

The Eagles Amidst the Mob of Media

Ateneo De Manila University
UAAP Season 73 Basketball Champions
Three-peat: 2008-2009-2010

Final Score: Ateneo 65 - 62 FEU

Ryan Buenafe was a time-travelling demon in this game. Hands down!

Terrence Romeo Tries to Shoot Despite the Defense of the Eagles

The FEU Tamaraws were amazing this time unlike Game 1. Mr. Garcia, you are awesome!

Heartfelt Embrace by the Eagles

Everyone doubted this year's Blue Eagles after losing Baclao, Al-Hussaini and Reyes from last year's team. For a team in 2nd place with a 10-4 record going into the Final Four but not having a win against the highly-favored Tamaraws, eyebrows were raised if they could push through facing FEU in the end. Well, not until the battle for championship came. They proved everyone was down right wrong.

It's One Big Fight for the Blue Eagles Fans

There is no doubt Ateneo has the best sixth-man/crowd when it comes to basketball games. I couldn't be any luckier and happier watching and cheering for the blue and white in this kind of Ateneo community.

Fight!

I worked undertime to watch the game on a Thursday afternoon. Wanna try asking me if it's worth it? Undertime for enjoying an Ateneo Three-peat Championship? I tell you. It's good! Go Ateneo!

Other Stuff:
  • This is the first Ateneo three-peat in men's basketball since the 1930s, and with the juniors, the first double three-peat in UAAP and NCAA history.
  • In Ateneo, we hold this annual bonfire in celebration of the championship.
  • That has the word "yabang" written all over it huh? It's just a joke. :)
  • Pagbigyan. Three-peats don't come too often after all. Capisce?

Bartman

Bart's Inception Chalkboard Gag

That image is just one of the many chalkboard gags of The Simpsons shown at the start of an episode. The Simpsons is now on their 22nd Season and is the longest-running prime time animated series and also longest-running sitcom in the United States; having 465 episodes up to date. I do hope it won't die because it's too good. Is that possible? Well, if it is, then I'm hoping! The Simpsons never gets old. I mean really!

You Just Gotta Love Some Artwork!

Artwork Shoe Box

Last summer i bought a pair of blue boat shoes at Artworkone of the leading t-shirt brands in the Philippines dedicated to the young and passionate. Yeah, that came straight out from their Facebook page. But hey! Look at that awesome box! It looks so artworky doesn't it? Like me, I know you keep some shoe boxes as well. And this Artwork shoe box will not be an exception for shoe boxes to be kept. Cool cheap shoes (1.1k php) that comes with a cool shoe box, not bad huh? Well, the store really has lots of awesome apparels so do check it out!

Other Stuff:
  • Artwork has membership cards. I want one!
  • I usually go to Artwork stores in Trinoma and SM North Edsa. Where are other Artwork stores anyway?

Manny, Manny, Manny

Ever since I was a kid, I have this great fascination on money. You heard it right. Money. The very powerful papers and coins that rule our world in so many ways. Money, also called dough, cash, bills, bread, bucks, loot, dinero, moolah and other money synonyms that you might not even heard of. Of course I got those synonyms from my trusty friend Urban Dictionary! (OK. If you do not know this awesome site then go look for your old dictionary and throw it away now.) Even Merriam-Webster got bitch-slapped by Urban Dictionary. Haha! Nah. I'm just messing with you. I still use you once in a while old dictionary buddy!

Going back to the topic, I like money! But not I-like-money-because-I-am-so-greedy-I-want-to-own-the-world type of I like money. Instead, I like money as an object that can be a collection; not money as wealth. Well, I like it too but that's not the point! Money amazes me how every currency looks so complicated with every little detail imprinted or engraved on it. Now, I haven't seen much currency in my life. In fact, usd (United States Dollars) is the only foreign currency that I see from time and time. And those dollars are not even my dollars. How I wish.

Ang Bagong Lipunan (Marcos' Regime) 100 Peso Bill (Front)

During my elementary days, my classmates and I would always go around asking other classmates if they could spot particular objects that are in some way hidden on different bills. I don't know about you but the famous ones I could think of was this cat in the 10 peso bill (somewhere in the Barasoain Church) and the ghost of Manuel Quezon, or so we usually say, in the 20peso bill (standing in some window looking at you). It's cool how people notice those kinds of little things.

I don't know how it started. I mean this fascination about money. Maybe, it's because my mother dear has been working at the bank and even before she would usually show me money stuff like new released bills and special bills that I find fascinating every time.

Ang Bagong Lipunan (Marcos' Regime) 100 Peso Bill (Back)

One Sunday morning, I went to Greenhills Shopping Center in Ortigas with my girlfriend and her mom. We were going around looking at stuff of all sorts. While they were looking at clothes, I wandered a few stalls away and found this interesting spot. It was full of old/antique stuff from the 70's, 80's & 90's and surprisingly there were lots of currencies from various nations but the Philippine currency got most of my attention because I thought I was looking at new versions of our money today. It turns out it were from Marcos' time.

The images above is a 100 peso bill that I bought for 120 php. Will you look at that, I bought money. Sounds fair eh? Haha. The whole collection is priced at 470 php including 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 peso bills. It looks real nice and go take a look, Manuel Roxas looks younger.

Other stuff:
  • The old man selling his collections reminds me of Channing Tatum's father in Dear John (2010 film).
  • I got the blog's title from Kimmy Dora (2009 film).
  • The 100 peso bill above has an old BSP logo.
  • I have some UP Centennial and BSP 60 years edition bills.
  • Medium: There is a BANGKOSENTRALNGPILIPINASBANGKOSENTRALNGPILIPINAS... in your 100.
  • Difficult: There is a CENTRALBANKOFTHEPHILIPPINESCENTRALBANKOFTHEPHILIPPINES... in your 500.
  • Edited: There is a similar bill feature in your 200 and 1000! (Special thanks to Esrael Santillan for this!)
  • Go take a look!

Hello World!

Hello World!
Hello World Code

If you understood what it meant by just reading this blog's title, then in some way you are inclined to the field of Information Technology or maybe you had this Visual Basic class back in high school. FYI, I'm not going to talk about  Hello World here. I just needed something to post as my "First Blog Post" and it was the first thing that came into mind. I know, I know. Most bloggers would say something like "This is my official blog from now on and I hope I would have the time to update it and write stuff on it and so on and so forth so please try to drop by once in a while".

Fine fine. I would've have wanted that too. And so I hope I would have the time to update this blog and write stuff on it and so on and so forth so please try to drop by once in a while. OK cool! See? Writing a blog post isn't that bad after all.

If you're still confused what Hello World is, I took the liberty of searching its formal definition on the ever-trusted Google and found it at the trusted Wikipedia. So here it is:
Hello World is often considered to be tradition among programmers for people attempting to learn a new programming language to write a "Hello World!" program as one of the first steps of learning that particular language.
Alright! See you soon!
